Located on the hillside north of the Royal Fortress of Chinon, the vineyards of the Champ du Pin were planted between 1943-1944, and no vines have been planted since. Which makes it today one of the oldest vineyards still productive in AOC Chinon. She is celebrating her 75th birthday this year.
Placed on a basement of Turonian chalk called Tuffeau, the Champ du Pin benefits from a layer of limestone pebbles and flint on the surface to store the heat during the day and return it during the night.
No matter the weather, this vine will always adapt to the climatic conditions of the year thanks to the depth of its roots.
