Domaine de Touraine

Domain of Touraine
Wines AOC Chinon and AOC Touraine

Established over 30 years ago by Pascal Avril, the Domaine de Touraine is the southernmost vineyard in the land of Rabelais.

Today it spreads over 15 hectares of vines on the banks of the Vienne river, divided into 2 appellations: A.O.C Touraine and A.O.C Chinon, bearing 2 types of vine: the Cabernet Franc for the red and rosé wines and the Chenin variety for the white wine.  In 2013, Mathieu, Pascal’s son, joined the Domaine infusing it with a new dynamic. Thus, in 2017, the Domaine switched to Organic Conversion, the logical outcome of Pascal and Mathieu’s approach. The first official organic vintage arrived in 2020 for all our cuvées.

Everything starts in the vineyard. Because you can not make good wine with bad grapes. It is for this reason that our agricultural practices are crucial and that we always take into account local specificities such as soil and climate.
