Sélection de nos meilleures grappes de l’année, Calcaria Terra est un concentré de Puissance, Elégance et Plaisir. Elevé 12 mois en barrique puis stocké en bouteille dans nos caves de tuffeau , ce vin est l’aboutissement d’un long et fastidieux travail dans la vigne , mettant en avant le caractère unique du Terroir de Marçay.
In the vineyard :
Sol : Limestone-clay soil.
Localisation : On the plateau of Marçay.
Cépage : Cabernet franc 100%.
Age des vignes : between 20 and 40 years.
In the cellar :
Winemaking method : fermentation in concrete tanks with pumping over twice a day for 2 weeks then once a day for one more week.
Wine maturation : 12 months in oak barrels at 12 – 13°C then bottled and storaged in tuffeau cave for 1 year at least.
Suggestion :
Color : intense blackcurrant red.
Nose : prune, blackcurrant, woody notes.
Mouth : very powerful structure, with crispy and grained tannins strengthen the notes of roasted bread and woody aromas. All of this covered by a bouquet of ripe blackberry, prune and spicy aromas with a nice acidity at the finnish.
Suggestion : decant the wine, or open the bottle 2/3 hours before serving, at 16°C.
Aging potential : 5 years and more
